Part of the original 1828 house, this room became the Keeping Room after the addition of 1846. The wallpaper is an early 1800's documented style by Schumacher, copied from a ladies' hatbox in England. Popular in that period were the swags and festoons, which are repeated in the window treatments. Furnishings are antiques, including a Sheraton card table, and reproductions. A fireplace and a piano are additional features in the room. With a seating capacity of twelve and a service bar connecting it to the new keeping room/kitchen, the Dining Room lends itself to catered events.
